Manual Taller Fiat Ducato 1996

I am a newbie to the Forum and although I have trawled through the archives with interest, I've got to the point where I need some direct advice. I am having real difficulty in identifying this particular engine for replacement parts and obtaining a wiring diagram, etc. Even when trying to obtain a manual I'm not sure which one covers my engine (Peter Russek manuals seem to be recommended, but do I need the 2.5L D, or the 2.5 TD SOFIM, or something else all together?) The reason for the info is that it seems my motorhome has the usual problems that crop up on this forum. Firstly the engine running cold, so I want to know where the thermostat housing is and order the correct thermostat & gaskets before I start dismantling. Secondly, I get no heater plug light on the dash (in either cold or warm weather) and the starting is becoming difficult with lots of grey smoke when cold. So I want identify where the glow plug relay is located to check or replace that, and also specifiy a new glow plug (I'm pretty sure it is the single glow plug type on the inlet ). Any advice on the manual required or the problems I am having above would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, No, but I have given the engine a service and changed the oil, oil filter, fuel filter and thermostat and it doesn't seem to smoke from start like it did. I have heard that changing the oil can make a difference and it seems to in this case, but of course the weather is also getting warmer too which may have something to do with it. Anyway, as it doesn't smoke now I've decided not to mess with the glow plug for the moment. Just had a look on the Beru website though, and that reference you gave is absolutely right, so thank you for confirming it.
