Assemble the Steel Purchase 1-inch to serve as the frame of your go-kart stand. You need six tubes in three pairs of the same length. Four tubes make an 'X' shape, joined in the middle, while two shorter tubes join the longer tubes at the top of the stand.

Steel tubing remains strong enough to hold up your go-kart as you work on it. Cut two tubes each to 56 inches, 50 inches, and 30 inches with steel tube. Tubes come in different lengths because the wheels that make the stand mobile have two different diameters. Cut the ends of the 50-inch tubes at 45-degree angles for later welding. Combine Tubes Use an acetylene to weld the 30-inch tubes at each of the top edges of the four tubes that form an 'X.' These cross pieces serve as the support for the go-kart frame.

One cross tube welds to the 50-inch pieces, while another goes on both 56-inch pieces. Drill a 1/4-inch hole through the center point of the 50-inch tubes aligned with a mark 25 inches from the end of the 56-inch tubes.

The four upper portions of the tubes should be 25 inches long as they sit above the drill hole. The 56-inch tubes should go down lower than the 50-inch tubes. Put a 2 1/2-inch by 1/4-inch through the hole, and secure the other end with a nut.

Your go-kart stand should now look like a three-dimensional 'X' pattern. Prepare the Caster Wheels Drill four holes, one on each corner, on two square steel plates that measure 3 inches on a side. Like before, make sure you use a suitable for drilling through steel.

Weld the steel plates to the bottom ends of the shorter tubes of the go-kart stand. This plate forms the base for two swivel. The four holes you drilled contain the bolts and screws that attach the casters to the stand. Go for at least 5-inch rubber casters, but don't buy wheels that are too large because the back wheels are bigger than the front wheels. Attach the Back Wheels Purchase 7-inch for the back tires. This makes the front wheels a different size, but the steel plates that hold the casters to the stand add extra length.

The larger, second pair of wheels evens out the bottom portion of the stand. Insert a on the end of the longer tubes to prepare for the rubber wheels.

Attach the wheels to the bearings, and make sure they rotate properly. Make Handles Surround the two handles at the top of the go-kart stand with foam. Encompass the handles, and then secure the insulation with two small pieces of tape on each end. The stand works with the help of two buddies.

Two people get on either side of the stand while a third person raises up the go-kart on the back end. Pivot the stand until the upper edge is parallel to the go-kart, and then tilt it back up with the vehicle on top.

Use your stand to perform routine maintenance on your ride as you wheel it around the shop.
